The Original Mattress Factory Limited Warranty

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and defines the exclusive terms of your Original Mattress Factory Limited Warranty:

The quality built into every Original Mattress Factory mattress and box spring allows us to offer the purchaser of these fine products a limited warranty against any defect in workmanship or material (other than cover). This warranty extends only to the original purchaser. You must provide proof of purchase to validate this warranty. In the event that service resulting from such defect is required during the no-charge period (see Warranty Table below) after the original purchase, your mattress and/or box spring will be repaired or replaced (at The Original Mattress Factory’s option) without charge, except for transportation costs.

In the event that service resulting from such a defect is required after the no-charge period, your mattress and/or box spring will be repaired or replaced (at The Original Mattress Factory’s option) with a charge to the consumer for labor and materials as calculated on the Warranty Table.

Repair of the mattress or box spring does not extend the duration of this limited warranty or begin a new limited warranty period.

ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES ON THIS PRODUCT, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL NOT EXCEED IN DURATION THE TERM OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. THE TERMS STATED IN THIS WARRANTY SHALL BE THE CONSUMER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IN THE EVENT OF ANY DEFECT DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. Important Original Mattress Factory Limited Warranty Notes

This mattress is designed for full performance when used with a matching box spring as a total sleep system. If used on a faulty box spring, resulting mattress damage will void your warranty.

To avoid structural damage and voiding of your warranty, adequate center supports must be used in your bed frame or with bed rails with full, queen, and king size mattress sets.

In the normal course of sleeping on your mattress, body impressions will appear. This is not a structural defect covered by this warranty. It is simply an indication that the upholstery layers are settling and compacting as you use your new mattress. Periodically rotating one-sided mattresses or flipping and rotating two-sided mattresses can minimize the amount of impressions that you see.

The total years of limited warranty coverage you receive depend upon the construction of your model. Refer to the law label tag on your bedding for the warranty code, which will be either an A, B, C or D.

Our limited warranty is provided in detail in this handout but, in summary, our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. The use of a warranty by our customers is minimal, but the information below is provided to help you identify whether or not you may be one of the few who do have a product defect as covered by our limited warranty. (Note: This is not an all inclusive list.)

Items Covered By Our Warranty Under Normal Use

  1. Body impressions with more than 1 ½" indentation if the mattress is supported by a matching box spring and used with an appropriate frame or center support/slat system. See Body Impressions and Center Support sections.

  2. Wire that is loose or broken and protruding through the cover of your mattress.

  3. Broken or loose modules or grid top in the box spring.

  4. Broken or split wood slats in the box spring frame.

  5. Handles that have pulled out of the mattress.

Items NOT Covered By Our Warranty

  1. Body impressions with less than 1 ½" indentation.

  2. Damage or "sagging" due to the use of a worn or insufficient box spring or an improper bed frame. See Center Support section.

  3. Comfort preference. See Comfort Policy.

  4. Fabric cover (including stains, soiling, pilling and burns).

  5. Border wires that are bent by the improper folding of the mattress during moving or turning.

  6. Transportation costs associated with warranty claims.

  7. Any damage to mattress or box spring from abuse or improper use.

  8. Bedding height.

Body Impressions

Body impressions are due to the normal compression of upholstery layers. Just like a new pair of shoes, a new mattress will conform to your body over time as you use it. Body impressions are normal in today’s mattresses with the many upholstery layers that provide comfort and insulation from the coils. Periodically rotating one-sided mattresses or flipping and rotating two-sided mattresses can minimize the amount of impressions that you see. Also, on king size beds, it is common to see a ridge down the middle since the mattress is not typically used in this area and the padding layers are not compressed.

Center Support

Adequate center supports in your bed frame or used in conjunction with bed rails are imperative to ensure proper support and are required with full, queen and king size mattress sets. On free standing bed frames, a center rail should have at least one leg in the center of the bed that touches the floor. On beds requiring the use of wood slats, a minimum of 3 heavy slats with a leg touching the floor on each are required. Beds and frames that do not have the proper center supports will bow or sag in the middle over time. See illustration below.

RETURN POLICY

IT'S THE LAW. While state statutes vary on mattress returns, with some states having no regulations, we choose to follow the stricter, more defined guidelines of Connecticut, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. These laws state that once an article of bedding is used by any person or animal, it is considered a used product and not available for sale unless the product is sterilized and labeled as a second hand article.

FOR YOUR PROTECTION, The Original Mattress Factory sells only new bedding products with all new materials; therefore we do not accept returns or exchanges.

NON-WARRANTY ISSUES

The vast majority of our customers are very happy with our products. In the unusual situation where a customer has a non-warranty issue related to comfort, height or size, we will try to help that customer.
